Hyundai Customer Loyalty Ranks Fourth Highest in Industry: 2004 JD Power Study (Marks an improvement over 2003¡¯s seventh place finish) |
|
(Seoul, Korea) Hyundai owners in the United States are the fourth most loyal according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Customer Retention Study. Hyundai trailed Chevrolet which placed third, Lexus and study leader Toyota.
The study found that 57.6 percent of Hyundai car buyers were satisfied with their purchase and intended to repurchase another Hyundai vehicle. This is a meaningful improvement as in last year¡¯s inaugural study, Hyundai ranked seventh, between Lexus and Cadillac, with 54.3 percent of Hyundai car buyers expressing an intention to repurchase a Hyundai.
¡°There¡¯s much more to the Hyundai story than just great value: Hyundai now stands for world class quality. More and more people are hearing about the reliability of our products and our quality message is sinking in. We are not only successfully attracting new customers to the Hyundai lineup but we¡¯re keeping more and more of them. This is great news and further proof that our quality improvement efforts are paying off,¡± said Hyundai Motor Co. President Choi Jae-Kook.
The J.D. Power study is based on responses from 171,000 new-vehicle buyers and lessees, out of which 103,088 replaced a previous vehicle that was originally purchased new. The study measures the ability of nameplates to retain their owners who are once again in the market for a new vehicle.
