Hyundai's October Sales Rise 10.0 Pct Y-o-Y |

Korean Sales Up 8.6 Pct, Exports Up 10.4 Pct Y-o-Y
Sonata's Domestic Monthly Sales Top 10,000 Mark
Following a sluggish September performance, Hyundai Motor Co. recovered growth momentum as sales surged at home and overseas markets in October.
With a new labor agreement in place and the summer holiday season over, Hyundai saw grand total sales of 232,570 units worldwide in October, equivalent to a 10.0 percent increase over Oct. 2004. Cumulative sales reached 2,028,120 units in the first ten months of this year, up 10.9 percent over the same period last year.
Korean sales reached 50,757 units, up 8.6 percent y-o-y. Sonata ruled the sales charts with October sales of 10,112, the first time in 39 months that Sonata sales had topped the 10,000 monthly mark. Avante/Elantra, Grandeur/Azera and the Porter pickup truck were the nation's number two, three and four best selling models respectively. Sales of the Grandeur/Azera near-luxury sedan were up 18.5 percent over September to reach 6,962 units.
Domestic sales of commercial vehicles were down by 7.0 percent y-o-y to 12,834 units.
