Hyundai´s Sept Sales Rise 23 Pct |

(Seoul, Korea) September saw Hyundai Motor Co.´s worldwide sales reach 264,014 units, equivalent to an increase of 23 percent over the prior month and 52.3 percent over the same period last year. The sharp rebound was led by a surge in overseas sales which rose 27.4 percent to reach 207,921 units while domestic sales edged up by 9.3 percent m-o-m to 56,093 units.

| Korean passenger car sales climbed 6.9 percent over the prior month to 33,412 units while sales of SUVs and minivans slipped 6.5 percent m-o-m to 7,713 units. |

| Combined Korean sales of passenger cars, SUVs and minivans were up 4.1 percent to 41,125 units in September. |

| Meanwhile Korean commercial vehicle sales were up sharply by 26.7 percent to reach 14,968 units as demand was strong across the board for all types of buses and trucks. |

| The tally for all types of Hyundai vehicles sold in Korea in September reached
56,093 units, up 9.3 percent over August. In cumulative terms, Hyundai´s Korean sales for the first nine months reached 416,384 units, up 5 percent y-o-y.
Export shipments from Hyundai´s three Korean plants reached 125,296 units, up 47.4 percent m-o-m while output at overseas transplants in Turkey, India, China and the United States rose 5.6 percent m-o-m to 82, 625 units. Overseas sales combined (Korean shipments plus output of transplants) for the Jan-Sept period reached 1,513,866 units, up 10.3 percent y-o-y. |
