  • Used G3, the updated guidelines set by the United Nation¡¯s Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
  • Sustainability Report Review Committee formed; the first time in South Korea


  • ( Seoul, Korea ) - Hyundai Motor Co. published its 5th Sustainability Report containing sustainability management commitments and performance. This is part of HMC¡¯s drive to become a globally sustainable company by working in harmony with everyone interested in the Hyundai Motor brand, including shareholders, consumers, affiliates and community members.

    The key features of the report include:

    • Following the GRI G3 Global Sustainability Reporting Guidelines issued in collaboration with the United Nations.


    • Reflecting suggestions from internal and external stakeholders as much as possible


    • Not only describing the company¡¯s sustainability performance, but also discussing HMC¡¯s objectives and future plans


    • More indicators have been reported, utilizing the GRI G3 guidelines, providing in-depth information for stakeholders, helping them better understand HMC¡¯s sustainability management activities.


    HMC also increased the value of the report by bringing together a Sustainability Report Review Committee, which consists of highly-valued Korean and international experts in the area of sustainability management and reporting, to review the report and input their suggestions.

    Moving ahead, HMC will review and compare its sustainability management plans and performance, identifying any shortfalls and making improvements. Based on this, HMC will continue to spare no efforts in becoming a more environmentally and socially responsible company, as well as a company improving its economic performance. HMC aims to further increase the credibility of its reporting through this approach.
